I wrote this quote, like most of my poems, with a slight sense of frustration. Running for me is a spiritual practice, an act of love, a quest for freedom, an adventure, and ultimately – my place to play. Running is our place to play.
This quote has resonated with runners globally more than any other I've ever written.

I think it hit runners in a soft spot.
It made sense to put this note on our first cotton tee.
One of my goals for NOTES is to be the voice of runners globally. I hope that when you see someone wearing notes or one of our quotes, you think to yourself, "I know they know."
The notes I cherish most are few and far between. I have a shoebox full of notes that I've kept and cherished throughout my life. Great notes aren't found in masses. We want this t-shirt to feel like a handwritten note that you take everywhere. We want you to wear the character into it and become obsessed with the aging of the screenprint as it cracks over the years.
One day, we hope it'll be your most cherished note, your most cherished tee.
